Privacy notice

What this site collects. No accounts, no ads, no advertising trackers and no cookies. Below is everything that does involve visitor data, and how to reach us.

Publisher and contact

This site is published as AI Compute Tracker (aicomputetracker.com). For questions about this notice or any request about personal data, email data@aicomputetracker.com, the same address that takes data corrections.

Hosting and request logs

The site is a set of static pages and data files served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives the technical details that come with every request: your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, the address requested and the referring page. Vercel processes these details on our behalf, as our hosting provider, to deliver the site and protect it, and this notice covers that processing. Vercel’s own privacy notice covers only what Vercel does for its own purposes, such as keeping its network secure.

In Vercel’s dashboard we can see request logs and aggregate request counts, for example how often the data feeds, embedded charts and badges are fetched. We use them only to run the site and to count traffic in aggregate.

Analytics

Status: off. This release of the site loads no analytics script.

When it is on, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics, a page-view counter run by our host. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device: Vercel recognises a visitor by a hash of the incoming request and discards that visitor session after 24 hours. Vercel states that the page views it records are not tied to an individual or an IP address.

For each page view, Vercel can record the time, the page address, the referring page as your browser reports it, an approximate location (country, region and city), your operating system and browser with their versions, and your device type. The site removes query strings and #fragments from the page address it reports, and it reports page views only: no custom events and no identifiers. Its pages also tell your browser to pass on only the site’s domain as the referrer, never the full address of the page you are on. Charts embedded on other websites never load the script, and if your browser blocks it the site works the same. Details are in Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation.

Cookies and browser storage

The site sets no cookies, and neither does the analytics script. The only thing stored on your device is your light or dark theme setting, kept in your browser’s local storage so each page opens the way you left it. It is never sent anywhere.

What the site does not do

There are no accounts, sign-ups, comments or email list, no advertising, no affiliate or referral links, and no social-media or advertising trackers. The site loads no scripts from other websites. We will update this notice before adding any of these.

Price evidence

To keep an audit trail behind the published prices, automated jobs keep the responses they collect from price sources. Vast.ai offer listings are handled differently, because they include identifiers of the host machines offered for rent: their public IP addresses, host and machine IDs, and approximate location. Each listing is now cut down, before anything is stored, to six fields: the three the price method reads (the GPU count, the listed price, and whether the offer is a bid) and three that show the offer matched the search (the GPU model, whether it can be rented, and its verification status). Besides those fields, only two things are kept: whether Vast.ai cut the result list short and a checksum of the full response. Listings archived before this change still contain those identifiers. The archive is private and is not published. The site publishes the prices derived from it and checksums that identify the archived files, never the responses themselves. Copies of archived responses go out only individually, on request (for example, to check a published price), and any copy we send leaves out host identifiers.

Email and changes

If you write to data@aicomputetracker.com, your address and message are used only to reply and to act on what you report. Mail to that address passes through the email forwarding service of our domain registrar, Namecheap, on its way to us.
